about us
turnpyke is a DIY record label founded by teddy tran and zack black. based in lawrence, kansas, turnpyke was created with a vision to enable musicians with the tools and resources needed to be successful in the rapidly changing music industry. turnpyke aims to help their artists succeed through distribution, marketing, booking and live events, media coverage, and content creation. 

turnpyke also operates the lawrence DIY venue “the tollbooth”.

teddy (left) has a background in pr, artist management, and marketing. previously, he wrote for music blogs sheesh media and itasca and now currently manages tennessee artist nolan barba. he is a senior studying marketing and music enterprise at the university of kansas. 

zack (right) is a long-time musician and avid live music enjoyer. he frequently gigs around lawrence as a drummer and has a background in live music production. zack is involved in music journalism at ku and studies marketing and music enterprise.
